We want to change the everyday lives of women by fostering institutional change from the grassroots level

Phase 1

Research & Relationship-Building

WECO investigates and partners with an organization on-the-ground, and recruits volunteers who are interested in participating in our support project.

Establishing sustainable partnerships is of critical importance to us. We want to get to know our partners, volunteers, and donors, in order to build a coalition of like-minded and hard-working people who want to make a difference.

Phase 2

Partner Collaboration & Volunteer Project

Equipped with a small team, WECO travels to a host country and works with our partner organization(s) on a project designed to expand their impact.

We co-develop, co-coordinate, and co-implement a project with our local partner(s) and plan a trip itinerary for a team of dedicated volunteers who also accompany us on adventure travel following project work.

Phase 3

Continued Support, Measure & Evaluate

Following our volunteer journey, WECO collaborates with partner organizations on project progress and impact, and keeps in contact regarding project development and future project planning.

We support our partners with research, fundraising and grant strategy, and other areas as needed.

We consult communities to identify need

Our model allows us to impact more people by spreading resources to international organizations that are already doing meaningful and engaging work. We supplement our partners’ ongoing programs with supplies, assistance with project planning and management, and ongoing fundraising assistance to help them more successfully achieve their mission. These organizations are comprised of people dedicated to improving their communities by empowering women, and have a demonstrated impact.

We believe that building a coalition for women’s empowerment on a grassroots level creates lasting change because it contributes to the transformation of entire infrastructures. On an organizational scale, it also enables a transfer of knowledge and experience between organizations from different countries and cultures in a way that strengthens all grassroots civil society.

We are not only working towards gender equality in one community; we are working towards gender equality on a global scale.

“Empowering women isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s the smart thing to do. When women succeed, nations are more safe, more secure, and more prosperous.”
